Last year team DROP really enjoyed making the parachute we Decided to make it our secondary mission this year. We are going to make some different designs of parachutes and then test the stability of them falling using gyroscope sensors.

As it is quite hard to replicate the forces, the speeds and all the twisting and turning involved in a rocket launch in a school lab we thought a good way to test the sensors would be a trip to Thorpe park!

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts the gyroscope sensors weren’t working on the day. Despite this disappointment we put a brave face on and still tried out the rides.

Thorpe Park closes for the winter after half term so we will have to find a new way of testing out Gyroscopes.
